Pennies
A few pennies make a big difference
Every 90 seconds, someone in the UK is diagnosed with cancer. This startling statistic means most of us will have been affected by cancer at some stage in our lives. That’s why we’re proud to partner with Macmillan Cancer Support, who do whatever it takes to support people living with cancer.
Macmillan Cancer Support rely heavily on donations from the public to continue their work, so we’ve partnered with them to support their Mighty Hikes, a series of one-day half and full marathon hikes in some of the UK’s most beautiful locations. So if you love getting outdoors and are up for a challenge, why not sign up and help raise money for this incredible charity?
We’re also offering you the chance to make a micro-donation to Macmillan Cancer Support through Pennies in all our Cotswold Outdoor, Runners Need and Snow+Rock stores.
Macmillan Cancer Support
Macmillan Cancer Support is a leading cancer care charity supporting people of all ages and with all cancer types in local communities across the UK. They’re a lifeline when cancer hits, helping those diagnosed continue to live life as fully as they can.
The nurses, doctors and cancer experts who work for Macmillan Cancer Support offer so much more than just treatment. They’re dedicated to providing people with the support they need to manage every aspect of their daily lives. Big or small, they do whatever it takes to make a difference.
But, like many charitable organisations, they're facing challenging times, and every penny you can give really makes a difference.*
£20 could help 100 people in the UK affected by cancer get emotional and practical support through Macmillan’s Online Community forum.
£50 could help fund a Cancer Information Nurse Specialist on the Macmillan Support Line to deal with a call or web enquiry.
£100 could run Macmillan’s Energy Advice service for an hour and help up to four individuals get the support they need.
*For illustrative purposes only. Every penny you give goes to charity: 90% to support Macmillan Cancer Support (registered charity no. for England & Wales 261017 and for Scotland SC039907) and 10% to Pennies (registered charity no. 1122489). All donations made with Pennies in our stores are non-refundable.

What is Pennies?
Pennies is an award-winning fintech charity with an important mission: to protect and grow micro-donations, ensuring people have digital ways to keep donating the small sums of money that are so vital to charities.
As a trusted leader in digital micro-donations, Pennies has created a movement that encourages giving, offers businesses a powerful way to demonstrate social purpose, helps charities make a greater impact, and gives the public a way to donate without cash, as part of their daily lives.
In an increasingly cashless society, Pennies’ ‘digital charity box’ gives customers paying by card or digital wallet a convenient way to add a small donation to their purchase, when shopping with participating retailers. Whether in-store, online or in-app, it’s a simple, affordable, data-free way to donate, with 100% of funds raised going to charity.
Millions of people are now using the digital charity box. To date, Pennies has enabled more than 100 million micro-donations, raising millions of pounds in much-needed additional income for charities in the UK and Republic of Ireland. Together, payment providers, retailers and their customers are helping hundreds of charities make a meaningful difference to the causes and communities they serve.
Because micro-donations matter, now more than ever.
