Carrier Bag Charge

The ‘Single Use Carrier Bag Charge Regulation’ came into force on the 5th October 2015, affecting all Cotswold Outdoor stores in England. The law means that single use carrier bags can no longer be given away free to our customers. It’s been introduced to reduce the number of carrier bags used in the UK, which will help to lessen environmental impact and improve sustainability.

All Cotswold Outdoor single-use carrier bags now cost 5p each, regardless of size. You won’t be charged for sealed postage bags. Proceeds generated from bags provided in Cotswold Outdoor shops will go to our nominated charity Wings for Life – an international not-for-profit organisation dedicated to finding a cure for spinal cord injury through cutting-edge scientific research projects and clinical trials around the world.
