How it works
On Sunday 8th October we’ll be launching Runners Need and Cotswold Outdoor's Recycle My Run initiative at the Royal Parks Half Marathon and across all Runners Need and Cotswold Outdoor stores. How does it work? Simply give us your old (probably smelly) running shoes and we’ll give you £20 off* a shiny new pair. Look out for the recycling bins in the stores.
Since October 2016, Runner’s Need have offered a recycling service in all stores. In that time, working with the European Recycling Company, we have collected over 1.5 tonnes of old running gear to be recycled or re-used. This year Cotswold Outdoor will be joining Runner’s Need in offering this service.
The European Recycling Company, part of the SOEX Group, assists people all over the UK to recycle their unwanted clothes and footwear reducing the impact of shoe waste, here and around the world. Recycling your old running shoes diverts important resources from landfill and allows them to be reused or recycled, creating employment opportunities and providing footwear to those who could not otherwise afford them.
